Brief
Wall Project

WALL fashion were offering Interior Design & Textiles students the opportunity to compete in teams in a one-week design intensive to develop “wearable habitations” – refugee tent clothing that directly addresses some of the challenges millions of displaced people are facing during the spring and summer months of 2015.

Requirements:

1. That the final design embodies the values and principals of WALL, which stands for high quality materials, proportions, clothes with emotional intelligence.

2. That the wearable is portable and can be reconfigured into a small dwelling or tent like structure.

3. The wearable coat/tent could be zipped or fastened to another to make a 2-4 person habitation – which might also safely accommodate children.

4. That the materials specified will be cost effective, and sustainable where possible.

5. That the wearable shelter is tested overnight.
